Another live recording from my new band, Medicine Bone (previously). This is one of band-mate Ken Shima's songs, which he's singing here. I'm on walking drums. I love drumming to this tune. Video of this same performance on YouTube.

Yes, Brent, you can see the walking drums pretty well in this clip, or this, or this...

Those walking drums are great. The way they have a bass drum sound and a higher snare sound reminds me a little of the boom and snap of a zabumba from NE Brazil.

flapjax - that's pretty damn cool. Are those a custom job, or did you pick it up somewhere?
Kenko- the youtube in the OP a isn't very clear video - it's more like a silhouette, so I couldn't see what the drums looked like.

Brent: kind of a custom job: didn't actually make the drums myself, but put them together that way. So, I sort of invented the walking drums.

Gotta say, man, those walkin' drums sound great. The really gritty/loose sounding snare really makes it happen. Big kudos to Ken's guitar and voice too. There's something about his expressiveness that's kinda like Neil Young.
All of which kinda bring up visions of playing in somewhere like frontier New Mexico or Arizona.
Awesome.
