You Light Up My Nightmares

An Accidentally Terrifying cover of Debbie Boone's "You Light Up My Life", the number one hit song on the day I was born. Born under a bad song.
Samples from Paul Revere by The Beastie Boys and Congoman by The Congos. Melodion and vocals by me through my laptop's internal mic.

Yea, this is a little spooky, nothing like I'd expect from a Debbie Boone song! Your beats and sample mix are pretty awesome. I dig it.

Wow, this is way darker than I was expecting from the description -- I was expecting a lark, but this is really neat.

The vocals are shitpants scary, but for me the percussion is a bit too cheesy hip-hop cliche beats to back it up. You could scare it up more with some distended joint breaking samples...

Yeah Garageband's loop utility thingy isn't the easiest to work with -- I really wanted to get rid of the scratch part of the Beastie drums but it was really frustrating to do. Whipped this thing together in a couple of hours on my day off, no time for proper drum choppery unfortunately.
Speaking of which, anyone know of a free sequencing program for Mac for people who like the old ACID interface?
