Heavenly Club

This song was #1* on the day I was born.

Originally recorded by Les Sauterelles, who, apparently, are the "Swiss Beatles." Who knew?
Anyhow, I didn't really veer from their version, as I thought it was an obscure enough song.
Odd, kind of bad lyrics; sort of silly and sounding sillier without me using the thickly-accented wrong-English in their version. It seems like a lot of hits in Europe around this period are sort of doing a bad kind of psychedelia-lite, obviously aping the Beatles who where way past it by this point.

*in Switzerland.

Yeah, I'm kind of a sucker for this sort of thing, too. The big, wide "hiiiiiiiigh"s are great. Needs even more flanger, though.

OMG, this is great in so many ways. It reminds me of watching Billy Jack movies: not only because of the time period but the screenplays and acting were so lame and somehow the movies were still AWESOME.

In this case the lyrics are just effing hillarious, but your execution and ability to capture that feel and sound is just amazing.

Also, the organ/keyboard totally kicks ass over the original strings/violins.
