Cold Dip

June 29, 2010 1:15 AM

I realized the last three songs I've posted have been covers, so it's about time for an original. This is from the same project that this and this is from.

I know these hills so well I can make my way through them to you.
I know these hills so well I can make my way out from any view.
And I know myself just as much as I need to.
I can make myself out from just about any view.

I'm like the mountains over here,
I'm getting smaller with every year.

I went out in the woods today, pretended I was in the war.
Went out in the woods today, complained about the boots I wore.
I went out in the woods today pulled out that picture of you.
Went out in the woods today, told everyone around who I was coming home to.

I'm like the mountains over here,
I'm getting smaller every year.
I'm like the mountains over here,
You're getting used to me with every year.

Whoa. Those lyrics snuck up on me. I really like them. You should have Sleepy Pete give this one the Sleepy Pete treatment.

Naw, no sleepy pete treatment on this one. The song is amazing though. Another fine tune, Corduroy.

Thanks, people! Yeah, sleepy pete, some recording needs to happen when we find the time/record distribution deal.
