A vignette - bend sinister.

Someone
Hearing what I said
Sleeping in my bed
Fucking with my head

(How many times can I count to ten?
The river flows
And the wind does blow)

I drive trucks for a living
It's what I do for you
And if they ask why you're missing
I'll say you moved
Away....far away.

This feels very 80s to me. And I mean that in a good way. The constant electronic rhythm with added layers of instrumentation coming in is very effective. The minimal bass gives way to the layered synth and puts flesh on the rhythm. Good stuff!

How bizarrely Peter Gabriel-esque. Awesome.

Thanks folks. This is actually a bit of a cop-out for me. I wanted to do a lot more with it but......got stuck. So I basically just edited what I had into something vaguely coherent and called it a day. The Gabriel link never entered my head, although I anticipated some Bowie comparisons (happens irritatingly often). Those lush synth chords with their slightly left-field jazzy voicings remind me more of some of Stevie Wonder's chord progressions. In fact they're the best bit of it along with the "How many times" vocal idea - the rest is neither here nor there.

This has got some nice atmosphere and groove. I dig the buzzy sorta wah bass bit, too.
