A simple little song about turning into a fish. Written in 30 minutes and recorded in one take.
It's a shame that the most overly used progressions are so often the easiest to write to. The drums came programmed into my long neglected keyboard. I guess I feel the lyrics made it worth recording. Hope you are entertained.

Thanks for the feedback senor cortex. I'll definitely try to mix it up more next time I record.

I sometimes write against one of those old standbys and then, once the melody feels settled down, go looking for spots where I can drop in something else to break it up. Make a hop to a relative major or minor, or try and pull off something cleverer if the melody will sit well against it or adapt with a little bending.
Love the piano line starting about 2:30. Whole super stripped-down feel works for me, though that's some kind of stunning mic hum in there that's eating up vocal clarity somewhat I think. You should try threatening it before recording sessions or something.
