In a thread MajorDundee started a few weeks ago, he poses a query, "What talismans, icons etc do you have in your musical workspace?"

Yeah. My Bachelor degree is in music composition, and I'm a programmer by day. Also let me mention I've never taken a single programming course.
The upshot of the whole applying-for-grad-school period of my life is, I now have documented evidence that I'm not Ivy-League material.

No. You have documented evidence that at a certain point in time a certain individual or group of individuals decided you weren't going to get through the gate into their so-called elite establishment for reasons that may not have been entirely untainted by prejudice, hangovers, bad periods, personal upheaval or whatever. Fuck 'em.
