Ah, may as well delete it then - I figured something that was so much of a direct remix of someone else's stuff wouldn't fit as a MFM upload, but given the recent discussion on slowing things down, people might be interested.

Well, it's tricky; I agree with the sentiment that music file -> Post Song is the smart default route, but if it's something that's not so much "Here is my recording/composition" as it is "here is some fiddling I did with someone else's copyrighted work", that's not necessarily so true.
So I'm going to gently disagree that this is necessarily a great idea for an actual song post; I think jtron posted one before that way when Bieber Fever was going around, and as a one-off that was okay but for further sharing of "check out this slowdown stuff" probably better to do it like this (or a post on your blog to link to, or etc.) since it's off-mission a ways from what Music's song posts are ostensibly for.
Anyway, it's a muddy territory that I'm sort of constantly struggling with the boundaries of, so I see both reads of it as having merit. But this is how I'd call it in this case: I think this is fine and probably the preferred way to go.
My only caveat is that I don't know if mediafire is one of those file-in-perpetuity things or not; if the link decays automatically over time, that's a future broken link going into the archives. Free online hosting is a bitch so there may not be a superb solution available on that front but it does make for some potentially bummed out archives divers.

Well, I am hoping that Mediafire stays around (although honestly I can't fathom how they haven't been shut down yet) - but this file in particular is hosted in my folder there, which I also use a lot for work stuff, so I should notice pretty quickly if it gets disappeared.

Also, the song I posted during BIEBER FEVER 2010 was originally by a band I'm very close to, and I have pretty much carte blanche to mess with their shit :)
