This is great. The harmonies are perfect. The melodica, the glochenspiel--how can you go wrong with a melodica and a glochenspiel?

Oh man, great freakin sound. I've actually always loved this song, although I heard a new version on the radio the other day that just left me cold. This is warm and awesome.

Thanks.
I also always liked this song and so, after quickly discounting the idea of doing the obvious slowed-down music, real-speed chipmunks voice thing, I wanted to just do it straight and strip it of the sped-up voice gimmick. It's sort of a charming song and I'm always a sucker for that kind of strummy pseudo-jazz with it's corny changes.
But to answer your question, Zenabi, yes, I think they slowed down the backing track like an octave, probably half speed, then did vocals, then sped back up to normal and voila, a nation is amazed.

Ah, so much better without the chippies and still very lilting, light and fun. This is great, man.

This is awesome. I just listened to the original yesterday at an office holiday party. Great idea doing a "straight" version of it. What I like most is that you really achieved a nice, bouncy swing to the whole thing.

top five favorite Christmas songs. My first solo project was called Golden Echo Harmonica. Love the accordianish stuff around 1:00.

(As an exercise in recording technique, how would one go about re-chipmunking it?)
Slow it down as much as one's vocal range will allow, record the vocals, and then go back to normal speed?
