Daysuke Takaoka: tuba

AIN'T I LUCKY

i bet you could make me cry
if i loved you a little bit more
i reckon you could have me down on my knees
begging to you on your floor
to get you what you wanted
i'd scramble for nickels and dimes
i'd rob and steal and burglarize
commit all manner of crimes

but ain't i lucky
push never came to shove it's true
ain't i lucky
I never fell in love with you

there was a time pretty baby
i would've fallen hard
as far as the consequences
i'd a had little to no regard
i'd a been careless and wreckless
i'd a gambled everything
i reckon if i was a bird
i woulda gambled away my wings

but ain't i lucky...

ah but keeping up this facade is tough
i'm gonna have to take a breather
i know you don't believe what i'm saying
i don't believe it either
i guess i'm getting weaker
weaker every day
cause it sure keeps getting harder
harder and harder to say

that ain't i lucky...

I'm really digging this instrumentation, and you guys obviously play really well together. This rocks.

That fat tuba! Wonderful, flapjax. Your voice really made me think of Jimi Hendrix this time.

Well, just listened to it again. I dig it more and more. Great singing, great lyrics, sounds like a project that could age well, like a good wine. Thanks.
