Whamola Solo #1

A little field test of my newest toy. Once again, good headphones or speakers are recommended, as it tends to go subsonic. FLAC is also available.
tl;dr.
INSTRUMENTATION:
Timbill Corder - Live Effects Manipulation
Tommy Scheurich - Whamola

Understandable; it's a formidable beast, but I'm wary of how effective it might be as a solo instrument without something to fill out the space, as it were. I'll give it a go this week. In the meantime, I posted a full group improv which heavily features the whamola earlier this week here.
The whamola was surprisingly inexpensive ($110 + shipping on ebay). It's durable, lightweight, and makes a helluva lot of noise for something that basically a stick, a lever, and a string. I'll bet you could make one for a lot less, too (if you can be bothered to do so--I couldn't, which is why I bought it from a guy in Idaho).

Oh, that's a LOT cheaper than I thought those things were!

Yeah, this one was homemade. The higher end ones like Les Claypool uses start around $500

I'm sure I'm wrong, but in my heart of hearts I'd love to keep on believing that a Whamola is an instrument designed to reproduce the smooth stylings of classic-period Wham.

This track has been renamed, and will be track #5 (first of side B) of our new album, Everything You See Here. The track has been titled Sabadip Fapdapsibat.

Not to take anything away from the live effects, but I'd love to hear the instrument without the delay, distortion, etc. as well.
