Atmosphere

November 3, 2011 9:56 PM

An ambient-ish track I made as an attempt to make a videogame-soundtrack kind of thing. Made with Ableton Live, Sylenth, Predator and Absynth.

Really blows up for me at about 1:40! Love it, empath.

In light of this meta, I want to let you know that I listened to it and enjoyed it. Thanks for posting empath.

That sort of crackly sound is kinda sinister -- it sounds like someone dropping a handful of Nerds candy on a countertop (which sounds less sinister now that I've typed it out but still). I like the other percussion, too; it sounds like it down a long hallway. And then that other part sounds like a haunted house creaking door. Aces!

Still working on it.

The crackly sound is actually marbles. I added some reverb delays to make it even more sinister.

(among other changes -- added a deeper bass, a kick drum, another lead, lots of little things)...

wouldn't mind more feedback.

Sinister marbles = good.

Very enjoyable! I'd also be interested to hear a more aggressive mix that drops in some serious bass around 3:00 (heck, if you wanted, I bet you could even make this into a pretty great dubstep track... it's what I keep expecting it to turn into at any rate).
