The Palm Tree
March 31, 2012 11:02 PM
Haven't posted for a long time. I recorded this in December and just finished touching it up last month. It's on the mellower side; inspired by a nearby palm tree.
Vocals, guitars, synth (pump-organ and bass patches), v-drums. All written, played, and recorded by me.
Lyrics:
Standing right outside my balcony
In a place that I can always see
There's a palm tree
With seven leaves
And though I'm here alone
I know I'm never gonna freeze again
The storms may come
The winds may blow
The rains may fall
The waves may crash
But you keep standing through it all
People pass but they can never see
What its strength has come to mean to me
Just a palm tree
With seven leaves
And while I'm here alone
I know you're never gonna leave, my friend
The storms may come
The winds may blow
The rains may fall
The waves may crash
But you keep standing through it all
And at the end of the summer
a strange white branch comes out of your side
Little flowers appear
and bees come and pollinate them
Then little red fruits grow
and storms blow them around
They'll grow into new trees
and stand
outside your balcony
