Kevin Is Lonely
April 1, 2012 6:22 PM
He told a lady at the mall to fuck off.
he sticks his middle finger up at his mom
he sits alone at an empty table
he wrote a letter then he threw it away
he doesn't care if the door is open
Kevin is lonely
he told a lady at the mall to fuck off
he got an A but they thought he cheated
he doesn't think he's very good at guitar
he put a flag in his bedroom window
Kevin is lonely

I like pretty much everything you do, and this is no exception. I particularly like the rhythm guitar in the chorus. You get such nice tones.

like it! guitars sound great. are you micing an amp or going direct/amp sim/pedals?
When I read lyrics, I like to try and imagine what it's going to sound like before I press play. I didn't guess this one at all. the sounds + words fit together very nicely.

Thanks for the comments.
Guitars mic'd with SP C1 on a Fender Blues Deluxe, SM57 on a Vox AC4TV. I'm not very good at it but I always mic amps; can't stand playing electric guitar through a computer. In this case, however, I had to go direct just for the lone repeating guitar bit, because you could hear me stomping the tape-delay pedal for the infinite repeat when I did it mic'd.

A possible solution for the stomp thing is to do a parallel guitar track with just the infinite loop section I guess, and fly it in. I was also wondering if reamping it would help.

Sounds like it would be at home on a mid 90s college radio station and that is high praise indeed. Good work!

The guitar lead-in to the second verse made me curse aloud in delight. This is just great.

Lovely harmonies in the chorus and post-chorus.
