Working draft of an ode to those green-aproned mistresses of the coffee shop.

Working draft as in "there should be a third verse or a solo in that dead air after the bridge." And the words need some reworking, and the mix is all off (I was experimenting with effects busses at the time and things didn't work the way i expected them to).

But I like the tune. It's very much on the One Day I'll Rerecord This Right list.

The bridge is the first thing that got written, actually. I tend to end up writing around some specific line, often a little rhyme, that pops into my head. So in this case, it's this:

The way
You wear
Your ponytailed hair
Your apron
So green
Your hand on the capuccino machine

Ridiculous, but in a song about baristas that seems right.

Strangely erotic. Hmm.

I like it.

shades of berlin's take my breath away in the synths, makes me think of the love scene in top gun.

Awesome topic for a song. I agree with snsranch -- slightly arousing -- for some reason this song seems like rather good background music for makeout sessions.
