The Sunset Star

A slow, jazzy improv thing.

Music specially crafted as background noise for soothing activities such as reading Pablo Neruda, petting a cat or braiding someone's hair.

Similar to my last several music posts, it's not really a song -- it's just three people making it up as we go.

What kind of kit is the percussionist using? Refreshing that it's not a snare (or maybe it's a snare with the snares off?).

Gonna braid the wife's hair now!

I think he had the snares off and he's using those hot rod stick things that are kinda halfway to brushes. I feel really fortunate to be able to play with a drummer of his calibre. I feel out of my depth with these guys, sometimes.

Hot Rod sticks (sometimes called "bundles") are great. I've been using them quite a lot recently. Love 'em.
