Give 'er to you

November 14, 2006 10:49 PM

In the Dallas/Forth Worth Metroplex there broadcasts an ever present tv ad for the Rodeo Ford car dealership. The ad involves a cowboy who promises that, should you find a better deal elsewhere on a Ford truck, he'll "just give 'er to you". The song is rough but true to its inspiration. From the fools that brought you Moon Patrol.

This was recorded a while ago, so if I'm incorrect in attribution, may god strike me down.

How much of a while ago? I'm curious, as this reminds me of early Possum Dixon, before they started to suck an awful lot.

I like it, although I was shocked that there was no farting or vomiting during the preroll. I guess we all have our own recording techniques...

ba, you have to save that stuff up for the actual track. Nothing says sincerity—nothing says integrity—like an unscripted boilermaker bleeding into the backup vocal mic.

Thanks for the comments. "A while ago" = a couple months. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Possum Dixon. I think you're implying the song didn't suck. If so, much obliged.

Yeah, there's some unpleasant bodily sounds in there. Kinda gross, but a few members of our recording cabal cherish the preroll junk. This was intended as just a demo, so we didn't bother editing them out.

No no no, it didn't suck at all. I like it quite a bit.
