jacaranda moon 3 - vampire deer

January 21, 2013 3:52 PM

the trip continues ...

i am just a puppet of the moon
pull my strings above the gray washed plain
of a land that was bleached too soon
holes in the ground, lights like a naked brain
thorton quarry sinking like the sun
boxy houses full of canned tv dreams
drop your bottles for the day is done
and nothing you have is what it seems

i am just a puppet of the moon
hiding in the interstate meridian grove
singing an old egyptian tune
as the world becomes a giant stove
it's a melvindale salt mine life
the brownstone apocolypse, the needle way
i am just a restive homeless sprite
a requiem in everything i say
---
the trees sleep during winter, is this winter, it's too warm for winter sleeping
the snow is grey, the sky is bronze, it's too warm for winter sleeping
go by the drying river with the ground bare, it's too warm for winter sleeping
go by the drying river, squeeze the sand, it's too warm for winter sleeping

at night there is no darkness, only tombstone glow, it's too warm for winter sleeping
fahren, fahren, fahren on the autocon, it's too warm for winter sleeping
go by the dirty river and charade, it's too warm for winter sleeping
go by the ashy river learn to fly, it's too warm for winter sleeping
