Piso Mojado

(cuidado)

A few years ago I got together with my bandmates from high school to jam a bit and re-record some old material (goofy teenage-"comedy" stuff). I brought a new track to the session for S&Gs, and this was it.

When I went to mix it, I found that somebody had labelled one of the vocal takes "trannies." Perhaps you can hear it.

It's in 7/4 (sort of); at least it's felt in 7/4.

Someone needs to make a TV show called Piso Mojado just so this can be the music for the opening credits.

it should be longer so one can mop a floor while it's playing

The first two comments are as incisive and hilarious as this song deserves. Bravo - nay, BRAVISSIMO.

Oh I forgot to comment after loving this a few days ago: this is awesome.

It sounds like 7/4 to me, but I'm a terrible judge of time signatures. Two observations: 1) Because it seems like 7/4, I smile and feel like you solved a puzzle in an effortless way -- I mean, the riff works great and doesn't seem unnatural. 2) That guitar is MEAN and badass.

Thanks! It is actually in 7/4, but I say "felt in" because there's an odd measure of 6/4 in there (one break is a beat shorter than the other). Or I suppose you could read it as a riff in 12/4 with a fermata.

Love it. Should be longer.
