isolation

So I'm taking a Sound Arts class at school - and since I'm the only person who signed up for it, it's become just me and my instructor mucking about on Garageband. This is my third creation, and first song; I provide the words and vocals, and Apple provided the music.

It's all very rough and demo-esque (especially since I only have a Rock Band mic to work with) but it was a useful channel for my current needy/lonely feelings!

This has got a lovely feel to it, and your delivery is strong. The thing I would work on is cleaning up the vocal sound - a pop shield would be a great investment as there are a few times where your "P"s and "B"s are booming through a lot. Also the mic is just not good enough for a clean, clear recording like this - see if you can get the school to splash out on something half-decent! In fact, play them this recording and tell them, think what I could do if the mic wasn't making it sound like I'm singing through a cushion :)

Haha, I'm not sure the school has any money to spare, and this was done at home...but I have had the pop shield suggestion so I might look into that :)

I should have mentioned - you can get a pop shield for nearly free by stretching a pair of tights over a coat hanger (like this).

It might look rough but this was all I had for the first 6 years of home recording and it did me just fine :)
