Trying and succeeding. You've got a good understanding of how it should sound. This is the most important thing.

Yeah man your tone is nice - your pitch is a bit off sometimes, but that's the sort of thing which will come easily as you do more of this.

You sound a bit Eddie Vedder, which is meant as a compliment! I'm a Pearl Jam fan :)

I used to be really critical of my own singing. Then I thought about it like this: how hard would it be to play a fretless instrument with my mind? Even some success would feel pretty good. The only way to improve your voice is to practice, so don't be too hard on yourself and just stick with it.

Agreed with dobie that you sound like you know how you want it to sound, so the more you get comfortable with the tune, the better it'll get.
