Trailer Park Madonna

My friend Chris showed up the other day with a terrific two chord song he wrote, so we sat down and blasted it out. He's such a great lyricist with a great rusty voice reminiscent of John Prine. Not the kind of thing I normally do but we had a lot of fun and I love this track. Americana I guess.

We did it in a pretty bass-ackwards kind of way... just recorded it live with Chris singing and me playing the resonator, then after he left I tempo mapped it and dropped in the drums and the rest of the instrumentation. I'm sort of amazed it worked.

We had no idea there was going to be a double time section... that happened way after we recorded the basic tracks.

There's another song we recorded which needs a bit of work but I'll post it eventually.

I met Chris running this Songwriter's Circle. I've been amazed how many good songwriters there are out there.

This is great! You're right, the delivery is awesome. The resonator sounds ace too.

I truly enjoyed your witty song. Chris has some John Prine in him and a bit of Townes V.Z. as well. Cheers!
