Chocolates For Sarah
June 28, 2014 11:56 PM
A waltz written by a friend of mine in honor of our fiddle teacher, Sarah.
I discovered today that my Zoom H4n can act as a multitrack recorder, and I had a tune that I'd just transcribed and wanted to test chords for. So this is me on fiddle (twice) and guitar (badly) recording a tune my friend Kay wrote before she left town for grad school this summer. It's named "Chocolates For Sarah" in honor of the leader of the contra/square dance band we were in together. I'm playing it slowly because I don't really play guitar and my fingers were hurting after a few botched takes.
This is pretty much how it came off the recorder, warts and all.

This was great. It had a very folkish vibe. I didn't know the Zoom H4n could do multi-track. That's a neat trick.

This is very charming, and the sound you got off the Zoom is not too shabby, I must say!
