Hearing Aid

My cover of They Might Be Giants' Hearing Aid for the MetaFilter Flood tribute project.
I've been down acoustic rabbit hole for so long that I found myself at a bit of a loss, but here it is. I have to say that the relatively new 'drummer' feature in GarageBand is pretty amazing! I'm not thrilled with how tinny the mix is, I think it's a combination of recording the guitars a bit hot, going overboard with the distortion, and basically having no idea what I'm doing.
(I really tried to incorporate the awesome cigar box guitar that HeyHo gave me for Quonsmas but I just couldn't make it work. Next project!)

I don't believe there's such a thing as "going overboard with distortion". You've made a rocking song out of my second-least-favorite on the album! Awesome!

Heck yeah. I got to the lead at the end and got a feeling I'd been there before. There was a band some older guys in high school had, can't remember what they were called, but I had a third-generation copy of their tape, and they had (as one did) songs with these noodly pentatonic solos that sounded exactly like this. It's a good feeling.

I can almost hear this being played in some stickyfloor indie rock club in the late 80's.

Well, that all makes sense because the last time I played electric guitar with any regularity or purpose was in an indie band in college in the early 90s, having learned the art of pentatonic noodling in the late 80s.
