your ghost is very beautiful, but visits far too often

The damp wind from the bay soaked through Watanabe's thin coat. Chiba was no place for a private investigator with a handful of yen and a suspended license. The monorēru flashed by overhead, bearing its passengers to cramped apartments and warm beds, dumping more water on her as it fled. She should have known better than to trust the twitchy gaijin who had promised her a lucrative case. Now her first priority was shelter.
