Everybody Lies a Little

January 20, 2007 4:14 PM

This is a song by Hank Plank and the 2x4s, a band for which I sing, play guitar and write songs (like this one). It is a country band, and this is a country song. We have been a band for over 10 years now. Three of our members have a total of two children. This song is about infidelity and there is a pun involved.

That makes for a great hook. Great song and it sounds like a great band. Fun!

Yeah, fun song, snofoam! The fiddle player is really good, too! Is that you singing this one?

Ha!, great one. I like everything about this song. I see this is your first, don't make it your last, post as many as you got.

Thanks for the comments! I will post more. Special thanks to flapjax for emailing me and telling me to start posting stuff here in the first place. I sing lead on this song, the female vocal is our awesome fiddle player.

I bought my first Hank Plank cd back in 1998. Now I'm playing in a band with Ryan Dorin. And we're on metafilter too! You guys sound great. Especially the trivers.

This is simply delightful in all respects. Great.

It's so good you really should fix the last 2 bars, there were 3 opinions on where it ended. Personally, I think it would sound great to have just the vocal on the very last "lie with me".

But, minor complaints for something I think is basically fantastic. Excellent work.
