I'm With Steve Now

Couple of years ago I wrote this song for a songwriting competition. Sadly, I lost (read: deleted) all of the source tracks, so this mp3 is all I've got. It's about a slacker guy who's tired of getting crap from his woman about his partying and no-job having situation (I swear its not autobiographical. :) ), who on top of that finds out she's been stepping out with "Steve". :) First time posting to MeFiMusic, but I'm a longtime listener. Damn! I was expecting something a bit more amateur, and so the strings and the multiple voices came as a surprise. Very nice song and very nicely recorded.

Damn, EVERYBODY is using the word "damn" to describe this song. It definitely is expertly produced and well-written. The worst I can say is that it sounds like a cross between Smashmouth and Sugar Ray. The best I can say is that it makes me want to dance, and retroactively award you a trophy for that songwriting competition. Excellence.
