wondering at the birds, they sing a constant need
she stands and watches them, st francis without seed
they stare into my window and don't understand at all
they don't remember winter it's all i can recall
now if i could change her and let her fly away
would she be happy? would she fear the end of day?
would she look at me and wonder what it is i do?
she already does that anyway - and i explain anew ...
