Verbatim cover of the Peggy Scott & Jo Jo Benson classic
From my new album wherein we redid some songs in hopes of redeeming them from previous versions, in this case not the contemporaneous cover by Delaney & Bonnie but later attrocities such as Bruce Willis' 1989 attempt. Ours is a very faithful rendition, right down to the Coral sitar guitar.
"Soulshake" was written by Margaret Lewis and Mira Ann Smith, unheralded badasses both.
Duettin' with me is my friend Nicole Yarling, singer/violinist whose credits include Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer band and Joe Williams. Covering Rosanne Cash with Albert Lee.
