The Middle Of The Night
November 29, 2016 9:46 PM
For this month's 60-second-or-under challenge.
A pretty hokey deal about being an awake person at certain late hours of the night and how that can feel different from night to night, depending on your perspective at the time.

Also meant to say earlier: this is also a nice and interesting contrast with your song "This Day Was a Long One" which has also been in my playlist for a while. I find them both effective and relevant in their own ways.

Yikes, I really mine that downer territory, don't I?
I swear I'm less mopey in real life.
But not much.

Oh hey, no worries, I didn't mean it as a criticism at all. If we had to stay away from downer territory completely, the arts would be in trouble. It'd definitely reduce my own music ideas by more than half.
Since "This Day Was a Long One" was from back in February I think nine months is way more than enough time between the two takes. It'd still be cool even if it had only been a few days between the two.

Too bad it was for a short song challenge... I wish this was longer!

Oh the mellotron and tambourine part comes in ON POINT and provides the perfect fulcrum for this song.

I'm a big fan of your music (I hope it's okay to say here that a lot of your albums have been in my head/playlist for months -- especially the lead track "Optimist" especially this month). Glad you were able to finish this for the challenge.
