Cider

May 23, 2019 7:59 PM

Traditional oldtime tune, played clawhammer style on an 1896 Bay State banjo, recorded into an Audio Technica AT-2035 mic.

Cider (AKA "Cider Mill", AKA "Stillhouse") is this week's banjo tune of the week over on Instagram. (A new one is chosen every Monday. Follow #banjototw, it's a nice bunch of regulars who participate.) I haven't posted a clip over there yet, but I got a wild hair to learn this tonight, and then I got another wild hair to record it and share it somewhere. The reverb is a bit much I know, but it's late and I'm past fine-tuning.

That old banjo sounds great. I love the little triplet lilt in that melody.

Also I learned the expression "to have a wild hair" (I'm not a native speaker), so thanks :)
