Flyball's Lament (the short version)

February 23, 2007 9:18 AM

I made this little song last night. The lyrics, albeit very simple, have been stuck in my head for some time. And they reminded me of Captain Fred Stone and Flyball drifting silently through the cosmos. I guess this would have to be before Flyball hooked up with Moofa, the cat from mars, and had kittens. And a warning: the first time through the chorus is a bit rough.

I hope someone else out there read the "Space Cat" books from the 50's as a kid.

Instant favorite. This is the kind of stuff from you that I like the most (I guess, if I had to describe it it would be the ukulele songs with assorted craziness on top). If you polish the voices a bit it will be perfect (and I'd love to hear the updated version -or the longer one, if there is one).

Great one, man, glad to have you back posting.

Thank you, much! Yeah, I think I will go back and fix the vocals -- I never do that sort of thing, but it would definitely improve the song. And the longer one ... it just has an absurd 2 minute outro. It's over here.

Wow, for being pretty short and sweet, it definately has an epic feel. This is awesome! I agree with mica, instant favorite.

Thanks, snsranch. (It actually began with me trying to drum along to "Concrete". Alas, I was too drunk. I'll have to work on that one sober.)

This is my favourite thing that you've done.

Whoaaaaaaaaa. Honestly, amazing. You could write a four minute long ballad that builds up to the chorus you give us and it would seriously be like Hey Jude meets The Flaming Lips.

Just coming back to say that I'm glad you're up there on the MOST playlisted and favorited. This is a great song.
