Dark Waltz in Eb Minor

Please help identify the source of this droll waltz.

A few weeks ago I woke up with this earworm. When I've dreamed a tune before, I usually know the origin, something I've heard. But this was a mystery. Yet it was so clear--even the key signature--that I confidently roughed it out on my little keyboard. It was orchestrated in my dream. With search tools & friends I've not been able to find the composer. It has the feel of Shostakovich, but it's not that. So this may be the first outing for this theme, and it's depending on me! But if it's from some classical origin, or a Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers movie, or other already-established source, I want to hear the rest and desist from development.

It's very similar to Chopin's Ballade op.23 in G minor, and could well be that filtered through dream-brain.
Here's Tiffany Poon playing it.

Thank you, thank you! One and done. This may have embedded via a Rubenstein LP I had as a kid.
