My friend* is way better at side-scrolling beat 'em ups than I am.

There have been many attempts to come up with a worthy second verse over the past 12 or 13 years, but it never came to pass, so this one comes in at just under a minute.

this seriously rulz. I'm gonna have it in my head for the next three or four weeks straight I suspect. And after that, whenever I see a quarrel in public.

Iggy Pop once said in an interview that there's no excuse for not writing a second verse to a song. Just wasted real estate, he said. But that dude was a stooge. Certainly not a bad enough dude to finish this song.

yeah this abbreviated version definitely has that Residents or Guided by Voices quicksong feel—get in, get the hook, repeat (if necessary), get out—only filtered through 1980s video games. It is definitely an earworm, and facilitated by its brevity even more so.
