some hero of the beach

Been trying to post more, because I have a lot of unfinished tracks and bringing semi-finished stuff to mefimu has always served me well. Please criticize. One more dirge in Em while I'm working on something more chipper. Would welcome notes on the (lyrics in description)

Don't actually know how to mix At the Drive in style emo vox. Even with limiters, they get too loud or too soft. Tips please!

This is pretty much the call and response thing I wrote from trolling the purplepilldebate subreddit. Not a joke: they kicked me out for misrepresenting myself as a man. In that spirit, criticize the lyrics, too. Which are:

Painted on every surface, it's everywhere all the time. How can we be of service? Give up, go numb, or go blind? Sure they don't mean to hurt us. Ain't trying to be unkind. My monkeys and my circus. My freaks so long as it's mine.

And out on the horizon, some hero of the beach! Set us so straight and so clean. If only I'd have never listened to anyone, I wouldn't feel so obscene.

And just below the surface, it's everywhere all the time. And does it make us nervous, when they say, "I'll take what's mine!" Somehow they mean to hurt us, and they say that they got the right. And don't we just deserve this? We're so aggressively fine.

Way out on the horizon...

the heat is gone and still we sink: brinksmanship shipping man slash brink. The bar's in hell yet still we sink, brinksmanship ships man/brink.

And never have I ever felt so fucking unseen, dripping with these kings and queens. If only I'd have never listened to anything...

eh, should be BRINKMANSHIP and "the bar's in yet still we DRINK," but the whole brinkmanship pun bit in the b-section is probably what I'm most unsure of in the lyric.

This tune has serious drive. Did you recorded it multitracked by yourself? Because if so, the way it is synched up is impressive. Either way, it provides good contrast to the different feels in your set/tracklist. I like it.

I like how the independent guitar parts feel like the room is full of them. It all feels very rich.

I think the song could have ended around 3:12, but that's my personal preference for false endings being followed up by a new riff.
