Got the JX-8P tracking in stereo again...gotta love that Juno chorus baby
This was a fun one to make. Basically one improvised take on a MIDI keyboard which is hooked up to 3 synths and drum machine, with a pad from a 4rd synth going on in the background. Piano and noise-wave crashes were added afterwards. Using the JX-8P as a bass synth for the first time and gotta say....not too shabby!!!!!! [more inside]
Got an Arturia Keystep which means I can now program sequences on the JX-8P and baby it is a game changer!!!!!! Marimba sounds are from the Roland SC-88 which is MIDI'd up to the JX-8P as well.
2 analogs synth looping together. Experimenting with CV connectivity to create syncopation.
Kind of an LCD Soundsystem vibe
Arps: Roland SC-88 Chords: Roland JX-8P Drums: Korg S3 Bass: Korg Monologue
a demo synth loop with some manual tom fills in stereo
Doing sort of a Deadmau5-style beat using an old drum machine (Korg S3). I used the noise wave on my Korg Monologue to create the little cymbal swells every couple bars (classic Deadmau5 trick which I have been trying to copy for a while using different methods). The pulsing synth riff is also kind of a Deadmau5 thing. It's weird - I'm not even that much of a fan of the guy but the handful songs of his that I've liked have clearly influenced me a lot.
This was a fast and dirty demo I made up to teach my band the song. Kinda like how it came out, so I figured I'd throw it up here. Nice little garage rock tune. Nifty synths. [more inside]
Just another folk-rock song about Jorge Luis Borges. [more inside]
