This is the Smoke Benders, coming at ya live from beautiful downtown Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Featuring the amazing Numa Naoya on his amazing little drum kit and yours truly on original WaveDrum. And random hollerin'. Lyrics and embedded video here.
This is from my newest band, the Dosages, from a gig we did last month, providing live musical accompaniment for bondage master Arisue Go, who ties up young ladies and suspends them from the ceiling. Hella gig, eh? There's a video (plus videos of two more tunes from the same show) here. [more inside]
Another one featuring the amazing WaveDrum. Video here.
Impromptu version of the holiday classic. This closed out the night for the Smoke Benders' last gig of 2011. Video here.
Dusted off ye olde WaveDrum (it's been a while) for a solo gig the other night, and played it over a simple bass line (from ye olde JUNO synth) which I have on ye olde iPod, for a new version of a song that appears on ye olde Roomful of Ghosts, and which ye can see on ye olde YouTubes and Vimeos.
From the latest BIG SYSTEM gig. Mostly drumming going on here (WaveDrum and talking drum), but the one verse I broke into (never got around to the next one) is from an old song of mine (someone uploaded it to YT here), and that was enough to give this one a title. Video at YouTube or Vimeo.
Just came across this the other day, fishing around in one of my drives. I recorded it four years ago as a simple take, direct to 2-track in one pass, with WaveDrum and vocal. I think I'd originally intended to add more tracks and flesh it out, but listening now I thought, hey, it's OK as is, stripped down to barest essentials and presented as a live take. Unfortunately, since the vocal and drum are on the same stereo track, I couldn't do as much post processing as I would've liked (especially comp on the drum) but c'est la vie.
For the current MeFiMu Challenge, here's a song in a language I don't speak. This bit of Portuguese proto-rap is a longtime standard in Brazil. [more inside]
