Smack Nine

Another experiment in using FLStudio to create music live. Weird time signatures abound!

I actually played all those octaved synth parts while I triggered/faded/modulated the rest of the elements in the song, by means of the wonderful FLS arpeggiator. Even if it doesn't end up sounding too polished, live FLStudio is hella fun.

I finally understand what the "main automation" track in the playlist is for: live performance. It's hard to switch between tonnes of automation patterns on the fly; it's much easier to mix all the knob-tweaking and modulation down to a single pattern.
