sonic youth vs. john fahey

To rock or to pick? That seemed to be struggle that played out on this old cassette that I recently dug up and digitized. This is another 12-string fingerstyle tune in an alternate tuning (Cc Gg Cc gg gc ce). I played around with tuning the double-coursed strings to different notes.

Now I want a 12-string even more, to play with the tunings. That never even struck me before!

This sounds really good... and the ol' "guitar as percussion instrument" trick works well here, too.

It's very, very nice. There's not much I can say, other that I really like these old tapes you are rescuing. Looking forward to the next one.
