No Going Back

This is not the happiest song I've ever written.

This is both more maudlin and more 'country' than what I usually play, but I was inspired to be morose, so there you go. There are, of course, a few screw-ups in this recording and for that I appologize. I'll re-record this later, but I wanted to put it up here and get some feedback before I go full-bore. Your comments are appreciated.

I'm a lover of sad songs and this is a good one.

I really like this. Reminds me a lot of Ron Sexsmith, and that's a very good thing.

I don't comment often in this section, but I wanted to say this has become my latest favorite song. I am compelled to play it over and over again even though I'm no fan of country music. I haven't the vocabulary to explain why, but I really like the guitar and banjo parts. When I first listened to it, I was transported outside of my freezing, cramped little office to someone's front porch on one of those summer days where it is best to be sitting on porches (this was much aided by the sirens). Now I am getting in one more listen before going to bed past 3:00 AM.

Mister Cheese, you've made my week. Also, you've given me impetus to tighten this little sucker up. Thank you.
