Misty

Solo guitar. One quick and dirty take, recorded with the windows open.
Still working out the details of this arrangement. I've never been terribly good at these chords-and-melody things, but I'm getting better (I hope!). Someday I hope to post something like The White Hat's cover of Hide and Seek.

Very pretty and warm. Delicately played -- I like the "bass walks." I look forward to hearing a possible tricked out version.

Such a pretty song! I think you navigated it well. The one thing that came to mind was: How is the action of your guitar? How thick are the strings? I think you pulled it off, but I got the sense that you had to work harder to play it than would be necessary if your action was lower and the strings weren't as thick--or maybe you could tune down to Eb standard tuning, instead of E. It might give you a little more flexibility of expression for this sort of tune.
(I hope this isn't annoyingly unsolicited--if so, please disregard!)

Gah! I always forget to check these old threads.
umbú: Thanks for the criticism! It's definitely welcome.
Unfortunately I can't blame my problems on the strings (light gauge) or action (too low, in fact; I need a setup). I just wasn't playing as confidently as I could have been. I mentioned that the arrangement still needs work, but I think I let that come through too much in my actual playing!
The tuning idea is a good one. I guess I could just play the thing in E since it's a solo rendition anyway...I'll think about it. Thanks again!
