Imogen Heap "Hide and Seek" Arrangement for the Guitar
May 15, 2007 12:47 AM
Rough arrangement of Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek" for the steel-string guitar. I put this together about a month ago, after the SNL "Dear Sister" sketch introduced me to the song.

Standard tuning. If you want to bring it up to imogen's original pitch, throw a capo on II.

Crisp, sharp, beautiful. Sounds a bit like Michael Hedges.
Almost sounds like 12-stringer at times.

Thanks for all the wonderful compliments. Will continue posting pop covers.
The original is Imogen Heap solo through a vocoder attached to a keyboard.

Spectacular. I thought about doing this after I saw that one Zach Braff movie, but you've outdone me by 1)Doing it well, 2)Doing it better than I would have, and 3)Posting it for all to hear. Excellent work.

Do you have tablature / sheet music for this arrangement? It's just simply beautiful and I think would be a great exercise for learning chord melodies

Going about things backwards, as always: I just discovered this mefi thread about the SNL parody and it's giant pile of imitations.

Very nicely done, the guitar sounds fat and the clearity of it is as clear as a mountain sky, this on goes on the list.

Wow, this is nice. I've really loved this song ever since I first heard it, and having never watched the OC or that SNL skit, it's still untainted for me.

Really great. Make the song so much more genuine and human-sounding somehow, as opposed to ethereal and artificial.

I'm not familiar with the original, but that's a great acoustic guitar sound you've got going there. Thanks.

I'd like to state for the record that I am now deeply familiar with the original, and that this version still holds up very well.

Hearing this voiced on a guitar really highlights the inherent beauty of all those dissonants passing through the song, especially in the first half. Stellar stuff, really.
