P.S. I Am The Cat

Just a song I came up with and then recorded myself.

Thumbs up for titles with punctuation!

I like that strange echo that your vocals have that flows off to the left, and I like the descending bass line, too.

I dig the organ (although I would have mixed it a little lower, personally [actually, second time through, I dunno. It's really insistent, but maybe that's your intent]).

Welcome to MeFi Music!

Aw man, I love this song. I'm so glad I just discovered MiFiMusic! I'm way too tempted to drop a breakbeat and some strings down on this mofo. Love the too-loud organ too! ;)

You have one of those voices that sound like a professional singer, or a singer in a professionally released record, which is a strange thing to say, I know, but it's something good. Welcome to MefiMusic indeed.

The title of this song reminds me of Natsume Souseki.

A lot going on here lyrically - maybe post up those words so we can grok the situation. Which cat are you? Check out Soseki's "I Am A Cat" for real cattitude. I liked the David Bowie "surprise" chord that breaks up the two-chord pattern. I would use the title phrase as a refrain in addition to using it as the coda. But then the verse may need a tad more melodic contrast. Your half-whispered vocal is not too far from Al Stewart's soft voiced "The Year of the Cat".
