I kind of want to play this when I wake up tomorrow morning. The song itself is indeed happy, exuberant, catchy and the kind of thing that makes me want to walk out of the house and take on the world. On the other hand, your tonal choices seem to have been calculated to cause intense psychic pain, so there's that. I'm torn. posted by arcanecrowbar at 11:30 PM on

This rules. Okay, the first three seconds almost killed me dead, but the song itself is a blast. posted by Karlos the Jackal at 1:01 AM on

Whoooo - my ears wanted to cry after the first few seconds of sonic rape.
The MUSIC is great though - dig the stereo'd drums. posted by Brettus at 7:18 AM on

so is it the part before the guitar comes in that is bothering everyone? posted by god particle at 7:21 AM on

Yes, I hit play while wearing headphones, and that first second or two came as something of a surprise. There's nothing actually wrong with it but I was all like woah. posted by Karlos the Jackal at 3:09 PM on

Listening today on a different machine, it doesn't sound quite so painful, it's the trebly hiss over the guitars that was giving me trouble. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Big Black and this is about at that same level of abrasiveness, so maybe I'm just being a wuss. posted by arcanecrowbar at 3:31 PM on

ill try to cut out all that hiss and soften up the beginning, thanks for letting me know! posted by god particle at 4:11 PM on

I like this a lot, but I agree with the previous comments about the HF clipping. You seem to have found a frequency that commonly causes headache. I would keep the distortion as is, since it's a really nice texture and is finding its way to inducing trance, but maybe calm down the harmonics above 16 kHz? posted by self at 5:02 PM on
