I Was Thinking About You (No Technology)

Do you socialize with dozens? Do you feed-read hundreds, friend thousands, and follow tens of thousands? Do you still get shy one-on-one?
Are your ears aflame?
You don't seem so lame.
I will click and follow you,
let a social network show how
we're strangers in near circles of
friends of friends of friends.
I wish i could just say I was thinking about you,
no technology lets me say I was thinking about you.
Whether we click or not,
I will deem you hot &
jot public notes about you.
I will notice how you wield
your eyebrow and yield
a status of most-favored.
I wish i could just say I was thinking about you,
no technology lets me say I was thinking about you.
Everything pithy I type,
retype twice and then erase,
every pixel I zoom in upon
hunts for a hexadecimal value
that will do justice to your face
when it comes up in my feed.
I wish i could just say I was thinking about you,
no technology lets me say I was thinking about you.

I'm not a fan of repeating each verse, which makes the song seem longer than it is (and it's pretty long) -- maybe one run-through of each verse could have an effect of some sort on the vocals, for some more variety?
