Matt, those rocks don't ring themselves. The park is an instrument just as much as a guitar is.

Why do they ring?

They ring mostly because of the concentration of iron and other metallic minerals in the rocks. Here's some more information. The rocks found in the Bell Rock Range in Australia exhibit similar properties.
