mmHg - Listen to Your Heart (Roxette cover)

July 31, 2010 4:28 PM

When Roxette recorded this song in 1988, they commented that they were trying to create that "overblown American FM-rock sound." In 2010, I bring it back to America with the overblown American hip-hop/club sound, complete with ferocious auto-tune lines and an all-stops-pulled, everything-and-the-kitchen-sink-and-808-kick-and-crash beat. I hope you like it!

Hah, I secretly love this song, and your version is at least as ridiculous as the original. I mean that in a good way. Love the autotune on "dreaaaeeaeaeaeams".

I just heard this on the podcast and had to come download it. (Which - no offense to any of the artists here who are awesome and talented and stuff - I have never done before.)

I mean, I get that it's meant to be sort of tongue-in-cheek? But also I LUVS IT. It's the same way I feel about Jonathan Coulton's version of "Baby Got Back."
