Decided I'd finally get serious about learning how to make dance music for real. This is kind of a half-finished song that I'm kind of stuck on, but figured I'd throw it up here just as it is... it ends kind of abruptly because I don't know where to go next with it..

Made with Ableton Live, Massive, FM8 and Absynth.. no prerecorded loops used at all..

I like it. the one thing that i think would help carry the first part of the song (from the beginning till around 2:22) would be some kind of higher octave synth coming in to pull the listener mind away from the bass line just enough so that they focus on that new part of the song rather than the bass line. our bodies with feel the bass line thruout the song. the trick is keeping the mind interested with little synth effects and riffs while our bodies move to the constant droning of the bass beat.

as for the ending i think it would sound neat if you can find a creative way to pull the original "saw" like bass line back in all by itself then keep throwing the other effects back in and build up to some kinda "explosive" grand finale.

i know i didnt really give you any ground breaking advice. and these are just my opinions... know how frustrating it can be to get stuck... I hope you didnt mind my constructive criticism.

Love how the low-end synth sounds like... suction. It's sucking between every downbeat. Which is in no way to say that your piece sucks. Hope you keep making stuff and posting it here.
