I - Introduction, Methodological Considerations, Presence of double-labeled neurons

February 7, 2012 5:28 PM

Quite possibly the creepiest science paper ever.

Mvt. I of Searching for Dual-Projecting Interneurons That May Contribute to Spinal Turtle Behavior. This is a studio version/dry run we made before a live performance thereof this past Saturday.

The intro was recorded back in August, while the paper was still a work in progress, and Tommy was still in town (he has since graduated and moved back to Virginia). The subsequent sections were delivered to man vs sun in voice mail form to his Google Voice account, mid last week.

We also plan on using the text of the paper as the basis of our 2012 RPM album, though in a different context.

INSTRUMENTATION:
Timbill Corder: Organ, Synthesizer (Korg MS-10), Effects
Trey Beauregard: Baritone Sax, Whamola
Tommy Scheurich: Vocals

This feels like the best open mic night at the student lounge ever so I love it.

Lost the voice in the music a couple times but otherwise what a neat and strange adventure. The speaking voice(s?) are nicely entertaining given the (very) slightly dry material. You lost me a bit at dye matching and neurobiological processes and things but I'm probably not your primary audience. ;)
