excellent. Did I ask you before about how you're creating this stuff? All ITB? posted by dubold at 4:56 AM on

Thanks! I used FL Studio with a bunch of VSTs including Green Oak's "Crystal" synth. I plan on recording vocals when I get access to a better mike. posted by dunkadunc at 9:18 AM on

Crystal! I messed around with it for a minute but haven't ever used it in a song. I'll have to revisit that one... thanks for the reminder. posted by dubold at 3:38 AM on

My one gripe is that it doesn't respond to pitch bends in the notation, and the pitch wheel is nonlinear: If you bend it up 6 notes it actually goes up 7, but if you bend it down 6 notes it only bends down 5. If you bend it 12 notes in either direction it does 12, however.
I've circumvented this by sampling it at C5 ("Acid Trumpet" is my favorite) then manipulating the sampler envelopes until I get the sound I want- then I run that through delay, chorus et cetera. That way the pitch bends work properly and I can do a lot of stuff that Crystal wouldn't do properly otherwise. posted by dunkadunc at 3:27 PM on
